In this interview, we meet – Kabir Vernal, an immensely talented artist who shared his lived experiences in our books – Kabir goes on a safari and Kabir, the artist.
Q) Please introduce yourself to our readers
Ans. My name is Kabir. I am 13 years old. I live In Hyderabad. I am home schooled.
Q) Please share your hobbies and interests with us.
Ans. I like to watch tablet, I like to listen to music and I like to paint.
Q) Please share a few words about the books that feature you and the incidents related in them
Ans. I visited the Van Gogh Immersive Experience in April 2024 in Hyderabad. I saw
the sunflower fields, strings of hanging lights and very beautiful paintings by
Vincent Van Gogh. I sat on a bean bag on the floor. The paintings were shown
on the floor and ceiling. It was all over me. I was inside the paintings. I enjoyed
it!
I went to Manas National Park in December 2023, with mama and her two
friends. I was excited to go to the safari on a jeep. We had a quick lunch and
went to the safari. I saw elephants, deer, rhinos, and many birds. After
sometime I wanted to eat something. The jeep stopped. There was a leopard
sitting under a tree. I was hungry but I could not tell mama about it. Mama
showed me the phone for some time, to keep me busy. After the leopard went
away, the jeep went ahead and stopped in a viewing point to see the sunset
and we all had snacks there. I was happy!
Q) How did it feel to see your lived experiences in an illustrated book?
Ans. I feel happy seeing my name in the books.

Ans. Be kind. Welcome differences. Do not leave anyone out.

Lovely to know more about Kabir and also wonderful effort by Anudeep and Padma to create these animated stories and print books about neurodiverse individuals and children
