In today’s interview, we meet Deeksha – a young non-speaking autistic girl who has shared her lived experiences in our storybook – Deeksha’s Pool Adventures.

Q) How would you like to introduce yourself to our readers..
I am 12 years old. I use multimodal communication – a combination of gestures, Avaz, and body movements.
Q) Please share your hobbies and interests with us.
I love swimming and colours, and I enjoy freestyle painting.
Q) Would you like to share your thoughts on the incidents narrated in this book..
This book is about how I started my journey into the swimming pool and how a total stranger helped me overcome my inhibition and today I love swimming .
Q) How did it feel to see your lived experience in an illustrated book?
I am happy to see my swimming story.
Q) Please share your thoughts on inclusion and how we can work towards a better tomorrow.
I just want to be part of all sorts of girls and boys groups of my age and do all things fun.
