Courage in Action: Celebrating World NGO Day
On this World NGO Day, we at Anupam Prayaas Foundation find ourselves reflecting on the definition of service. When we think of selfless dedication, our minds immediately go to firefighters.
Why equate an NGO to a firefighter? Because both exist for the same reason: to run toward the heat when others are running away. Firefighters dive into the flames to save lives and protect the vulnerable from physical danger. NGOs dive into the “social fires” of inequality, exclusion, and systemic barriers to rescue human dignity and potential. Both require a special kind of bravery – the kind that prioritizes the collective “we” over the individual “me.”
No one fights a fire alone, and no NGO creates lasting change in a vacuum. We are proud of how we have actively collaborated with our incredible NGO partners. Together, we have been more than just organizations; we’ve been a united front in spreading the message of inclusion. By joining forces, we have turned small ripples of awareness into a wave of inclusion.
